Position Description The Town of Marana is seeking an Administrative Assistant to work in the Public Works Department. This is a full-time position and an exciting opportunity for someone interested in working in a fast-paced environment where no day is the same. The Town offers a competitive benefits package: Alternative work schedules may be available.Expected Hiring Range: $16.70/hr - $20.46/hrSalary Range: $16.70/hr - $24.22/hr

Examples of Duties This position requires excellent communication and customer service skills along with the ability to interact professionally with the public:
  • Performs general clerical duties; sorts and distributes correspondence, answers phones, and takes messages
  • Inputs timesheet data; establishes purchase orders and facilitates purchases
  • Maintains electronic and hard copy filing systems
  • Coordinates the Adopt-a-Road Program
  • Responds to street maintenance citizens' requests or complaints; routes citizens' request or complaints to the appropriate division and follows up on progress
  • Provides organizational support by managing the calendar: maintaining files; keeping office areas organized
  • Maintains office equipment and office supplies
  • Creates and manages data using Microsoft Excel
  • Manages travel and training for the Street Maintenance Division
Participates on several committees as department liaison or representative Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED equivalency, plus six months of training/education past the high school equivalent.
  • At least one-year performing clerical duties within an office environment.
  • Ability to pass both the Town of Marana background check
An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience that provides the desired knowledge, skills & abilities to successfully perform essential functions may be considered. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office Excel
