Posting Summary

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking an Administrative Assistant for the J Voorhees Zimmerli Art Museum.

Among the key duties of the position are the following:

* Handles the administrative work in the Department of Russian and Soviet Nonconformist Art.

* Prepares and oversees financial documents.

* Submits travel expense reports for reimbursement.

* Assists with putting together annual department budgets and tracking the budget.

* Keeps track of department activities and statistics.

* Writes special and annual reports.

* Assists with exhibition and program coordination.

* Handles mail distributions and department mailing list.

* Handles graduate assistants' and postdoc's appointment processes, travel needs and schedules.

* Handles overall office management.

* Facilitates department purchasing and maintains knowledge of Rutgers Procurement Policy.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience

* Bachelors' degree.

Certifications/Licenses Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

* High organizational skills.

* Attention to details.

* Basic computer skills.

* Good writing skills in English.

* Interest in the Russian and Eastern Europe area.

* Previous experience in a cultural or educational institution an asset.

Preferred Qualifications

* Three (3) years of experience in office administration and management.

* Knowledge of Russian.

* Familiarity with a language from any of the former Soviet Republics.

Equipment Utilized

* MarketPlace.

* Microsoft.

* TMS (The Museum System).
