Job Description:
The Legal Aid Society as an immediate opening for an Administrative Assistant to work in the Bronx Criminal Practice office, Interpreter Services. ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Serve as the Administrative Assistant to the Director on Interpreter Services
  • Answer and respond to telephone calls and email
  • Open/sort mail
  • Draft and type correspondence
  • Prepare attendance and vacation and other reports
  • Schedule appointments
  • Handle administrative matters
  • Prepare and maintain training records
  • Assist in the preparation of scheduled reports, calendar year/fiscal year report spreadsheets
  • Work with CDP county offices to process invoices, interpretation vouchers, activity logs, language forms, etc.
  • Work with outside agencies
  • Develop and maintain filing system, organize, and maintain office supplies
  • Document and data related retrieval
  • Other duties as assigned

TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS Required qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Some knowledge of the criminal justice system
  • Proficient with MS Office, Excel spreadsheet and Teams
Preferred qualifications:
  • Familiarity with the Criminal Practice Law Manager System and NYS CIS
