Job Summary:Experience in performing bio-analytical methods (immunological, microbiological, molecular biological, or virological) following defined processes. Experience with mammalian cell culture, and in standard molecular biology techniques such as cloning, DNA purification, and protein expression is preferred. Initiates, executes, completes, and communicates results and related issues with supervision. Provide quality support of Expression Platforms team members through data acquisition, reporting, and communication. Execute in vitro analytical assays to evaluate samples with minimal supervision. Accountable for performing all techniques and assays so test sessions yield valid results and repeated work is minimized. Accurately record all data from research techniques and tests on data capture forms, research notebooks, and raw data notebooks as appropriate. Perform initial data analysis so that accurate and precise results are obtained and reported. Generate documentation (e.g., method protocols, reports) in support of techniques or modification of techniques. Ability to learn new types of assays and technology easily. Be able to perform, analyze and interpret results. Maintains a constructive and positive attitude for working on projects in the Expression Platforms Team, and for working at Boehringer Ingelheim. Follow Research & Development policies and procedures to maintain high quality standards and follow best practices. This position takes place at Emory. It is being sourced internally at Ricoh; however, they have not been able to find a candidate yet. Parking is the responsibility of the candidate. There is nearby parking for $67/month or a free Emory bus that connects to a Marta train line.Key Responsibilities:Competently perform multiple types of assays (biochemical, molecular, and immunological in nature).Experience in assay development, mammalian cell culture, ELISA, Western blotting, qPCR, and experience in standard molecular biology techniques such as cloning, protein expression, and purification is preferred.Strict adherence to defined assay method protocols.Extremely organized with attention to detail.Learn new types of assays and technology easily.Exceptional written and verbal communications skills.Proactive and resourceful.Proficient in Microsoft Office.Exceptional interpersonal skills; High level of comfort/ease interacting with all levels of the organization.Provides operations functions in one or all of the following areas: sorting, mailing, inserting, shipping and receiving product and supplies, distributing and handling incoming and outgoing mail, and applying necessary postage.Due to the higher level of presentation and telephone skills needed to perform as well as temporary/occasional receptionist duties, employees performing this function are considered to be Senior On-Site Services Specialists.Provide administrative support to the Client Diagnostic Coordination Center.Responsibilities for a specific departmental process/system which entails following standard work guidelines while performing specific job-related tasks (e.g., creation of work orders, scheduling, and customer service).Follow company policy and procedures to ensure quality metrics are met, comply with specific deadlines, and follow through with all assignments.Perform other duties as assigned by the leadership team.Provide confidential and administrative support to executive schedules/calendars.Make travel and lodging arrangements for both domestic and international travel as requested.Meeting logistics for Marketing, POC IT, Training, Finance, and Service Teams.Provide logistics for event planning, both small and large groups, both on-site and off-site related to needs of direct reports and their staff.Provide card expense reconciliation for VP, Marketing.Active partner with Sales in the planning, setups, and running of the annual National Meeting.Assist in arrangements of National Shows (AACC, AARC, etc.).Assist with Regional Show banner orders and literature requests.Literature stocking and ordering.Shipping requests / includes back-office requests as needed.Check requests / Purchase Orders.Setup and coordinate hotel arrangements, meeting rooms, and F/B for different General Support.User Testing: Responsible for meeting coordination and logistics.Vendor screening (forms/approvals).Liaison to Facilities.Gift/flower orders for life events.Engagement Committee team member.Required Qualifications:BS degree from an accredited institution in a relevant scientific discipline; or Biotechnology Laboratory Methods certification in combination with AS degree and relevant job experience.Basic computer skills with some Microsoft Office knowledge.Able to lift 50 lbs.Good communication and problem-solving skills.Minimum Skills Needed:Proficient with Microsoft applications and various software packages including but not limited to Excel and Outlook.Excellent problem-solving and analytic skills.Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment.Strong attention to detail.Communicates in a timely, proactive manner.Strong communication skills - both written and verbal.Must be organized, self-motivated, detail-oriented, attentive to deadlines, and a team player.Ability to prepare concise and accurate reports.Ability to precisely follow instructions.Aptitude for learning new programs and processes.Knowledge of Salesforce software and administrative experience is a plus.Preferred Qualifications:Experience in assay development, mammalian cell culture, ELISA, Western blotting, qPCR, and experience in standard molecular biology techniques such as cloning, protein expression, and purification.Certifications:Biotechnology Laboratory Methods certification (if applicable).Education: Bachelors Degree
