Assistant to the Executive Director The Oak Park Arts Council (OPAAC) has been a community focal point for artistic activity, and we are growing. We aim to celebrate, support, and promote the local artists and arts organizations that strengthen and connect our communities. OPAAC is seeking a part-time Bookkeeper. In this role, you will work directly for the Executive Director, preparing and maintaining financial records to track the organizations assets, liabilities, profit and loss, and other related financial activities. Position Breakdown: Assist Executive Director in producing and managing the annual calendar for the organization, including programs, services, events, fundraising efforts and meetings; Assist the Executive Director in monitoring organizational cash flow; managing the creation of monthly book keeping documents; monitoring administrative and program/service expenditures; reviewing financial information monthly prior to and following transmission to accountant and treasurer; Track scheduling of events, send confirmation, prepare press releases and signage. Manage daily membership administration and provide support for annual appeal, including list compilation and assistance with ongoing recruitment of individual and business members; Oversee office technology, including development and implementation of web site and new equipment acquisitions; Provide event support as designated by the Executive Director and Board Assist the Executive Director in representing the organization at arts and arts related meetings and events; Requirements: Bachelors degree or equivalent years of experience Minimum of 2 years of experience in an administrative support role Strong organization skills and the ability to multi-task are required Excellent written and verbal communication skills Knowledge of social media, including Facebook, Tik Tok, and Instagram, Knowledge of Microsoft, and Salesforce. Experience in grant writing grants, both state, and foundation a big plus. Compensation: This is a 1099 position. The compensation will depend on experience; the bookkeeper will work 10-20 hours monthly.
