Job Title: Administrative Assistant, Full-time Reports to: Business ManagerLocation: St. John XXIII Parish | Fort Myers, FloridaClassification: Hourly/Non-exempt OverviewAssist the parish office in carrying out its mission by assisting the Parish in all administrative duties with secretarial and administrative professional support. Job Responsibilities
- Learn and serve as a backup to front office when needed: Answer, screen, and route incoming calls to the pastor/office promptly, accurately, and courteously. Provide answers to caller questions and assistance when appropriate.
- Establish and maintain up-to-date filing systems, both hard copy and electronic.
- Compose, proof, correct and distribute letters, memos, forms, documents, emails, and faxes.
- Coordinate funerals.
- Order office supplies and assist in ordering supplies needed for all special activities.
- Schedule volunteers for offices and various ministries in the parish.
- Work with pastor/business manager on projects and communications.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent.
- 2-3 years of experience in a position with similar duties and responsibilities preferred.
- Previous church employment/experience extremely helpful. Knowledge of Flocknote is a plus.
- Excellent communications skills both written and oral and ability to multitask in a busy office.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Confidentiality a must.
- Must pass DOV assigned level II FDLE background check.
