- Provides administrative support to the department
- Performs computer applications, including word processing, spreadsheet, and data entry
- Processes department requisitions, invoices, expense reports, and transfers
- Manages multiple budget accounts including calculating, recording, balancing, and monitoring monthly income, expenditures, and account transfers
- Assists student media advisers with budget accounts and other administrative duties
- Composes and produces letters, memos, and reports
- Orders department supplies
- Answers and directs department phone calls
- Schedules appointments and meetings for the department
- Enters department course schedule into the scheduling system
- Enrolls students in courses and maintains course wait lists
- Organizes and processes textbook orders and advising assignments
- Handles confidential materials
- Oversees training, scheduling, and work assignments for student workers
- Attends and records minutes of department meetings
- Assists current and prospective department students
- Greets visitors, answers multiple telephone lines, schedules campus visits; and provides quality customer service
- Any other duties as assigned by supervisor
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Demonstrated bookkeeping skills
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks with frequent interruptions
- Demonstrated ability to synthesize detailed information to make sound, independent decisions with minimal supervision
- Demonstrated experience and understanding of customer service
- Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office software
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Ability to initiate and maintain positive relationships with students, faculty, staff, and the public
