Posting DetailsPosition Information Job Title Administrative Assistant (part-time) Position Purpose This position supports the organizational, administrative, and day-to-day tasks of the Writing & Academic Support Center. This is a nine-month, academic year position.Essential Duties Summary
  • Provide direct office support to the Writing & Academic Support Center including, but not limited to: answering in-person questions as well as phone and email correspondence from students, faculty, and staff; processing purchase orders; ordering office supplies; scheduling class visits; and advertising workshops;
  • Coordinate daily schedule of set and drop-in student appointments with Professional and Peer Tutors and Writing Coaches, including appointment scheduling;
  • Schedule and monitor accommodation exams, assist students with needs assessment requirements (scribe, read, computer, spell), and return tests to faculty;
  • Aid in College-wide efforts which promote retention through student academic success and student engagement within the NEC community;
  • Compile, process, and access data related to student usage and initiate outreach activities that support tutoring services;
  • Operate according to established systems, general policies, and procedures within the Writing & Academic Support Center at the Danforth Library and the umbrella of Student Success Services.
Required Qualifications
  • 1 - 3 years' administrative office support, preferably in an academic or non-profit organization;
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and take initiative;
  • Associate's degree;
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills;
  • Strong organizational skills;
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills.

  • Bachelor's degree
