The Department of Community Corrections and Rehabilitation (DOCCR) is looking for an experienced Senior Administrative Assistant to join the Adult Specialized Supervision Services (AS3) division. This position will ensure the division is compliant with state-level policy, procedure, and statutory requirements as they pertain to the supervision of clients on parole in Hennepin County.

Location and hours:

This position is hybrid and will be performed both on-site at the Brookdale Service Center 6125 Shingle Creek Parkway, Brooklyn Center, MN 55430, and remote as job duties allow. Work hours are Monday through Friday with flexible hours between 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. While this position is designated as hybrid, based on current requirements hires must reside in or relocate to Minnesota or Wisconsin.

In this position, you will:

* Investigate and recommend action regarding services, operations, policies, or procedures and assist in resolving complex organizational issues.

* Assist in setting priorities for DOCCR policy and procedure review, writing, and implementation, ensuring and monitoring compliance with relevant local and state law, policy, and statute as they pertain to supervised clients on parole.

* Serve as the division's representative for division policy review, writing, and implementation.

* Recommend policy and procedure review in accordance with DOCCR policy and procedures directing operations and supervision requirements for supervised clients on parole.

* Develop internal policies and procedures to guide supervision requirements for supervised clients on parole.

* Serve as the division's representative on technology changes to align with policies and procedures.

* Collaborate with internal agents, supervisors, and managers, and external partners at the DOC to be apprised of changes to supervision requirements or expectations for supervised clients on parole.

* Select, develop, implement, and administer specialized training programs.

* Establish goals and objectives and evaluate performance of a division's operation.

Need to have:

* One of the following:

* Eight or more years of experience in general administrative work relating to the management of departmental/organizational operations or in a specialty area appropriate to the position.

* Bachelor's degree or higher in public administration, business administration, or other field appropriate to the position and four or more years of experience in general administrative work relating to the management of departmental/organizational operations or in a specialty area appropriate to the position.

Note: Experience in general administrative work related to the management of departmental/organizational operations or in a specialty area appropriate to the position may be substituted for education on a year for year basis.Nice to have:

* Experience:

* Working with DOCCR data and records and understanding DOCCR data classifications.

* Working with parole supervision.

* Working with and interpreting Minnesota state statutes.

* Understanding interpreting, and applying policy, procedure, and uniform practice.

* Gathering and analyzing information using strong analytic and problem-solving skills.

* Building effective and collaborative relationships with business partners.

* Performing complex general administrative work including adapting to changing circumstances, manage competing priorities, and effectively responding to last minute requests.

Knowledge of:

* DOCCR policies and procedures.

* Administrative principles and practices relating to the management of departmental operations.

* The Minnesota Government Data Practices Act and Official Records Act.

Ability to:

* Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

* Complete high priority work that may be new or unfamiliar.

* Apply critical thinking skills and make independent decisions.

* Learn, understand, apply, and adapt to new technologies and electronic case management systems.

* Establish and maintain effective working relationships within and outside the organization.
