This position provides high-level administrative support for the department's front office and undergraduate programs. Serves as a key point of contact and assistance for internal and external constituents including administration, faculty, staff, students, and visitors. This position provides general support for department operations, communication, events, and calendars. May coordinate events. Independently perform routine and non-routine administrative functions such as organizing projects, workflow, maintaining records, monitoring budgets, preparing reports, and handling special projects. Assists with processing of travel and receipts. Serves as the undergraduate coordinator, providing administrative support for all aspects of undergraduate programming including recruitment, student communications, activities, and student and alumni engagement. This position assists with course scheduling and related matters. This position assists with department marketing and communication, including updating website, social media, and other materials as needed. It also supports the organization and functioning of the department's public spaces to ensure they are welcoming, well-organized, and prepared for routine and non-routine activities.

Required:
* High school diploma/GED. Minimum of 3 years of experience in an administrative support role.
Skills:
* Excellent verbal and writing communication skills
* Ability to handle frequent interruptions, balance multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality. Strong organizational and time management skills and attention to detail.
* Advanced computer and related software skills to include Word, Excel, Publisher, Powerpoint, Outlook, etc.
* Adobe software such as InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop are a plus.
* Ability to collaborate and communicate with individuals at all levels within and external to the university to support department needs.
* Ability to interpret policies and procedures to proactively resolve issues or improve processes. Ability to identify problems and implement or recommend solutions.
* Drafting, proofreading, and editing skills.
Preferred Skills:
* Familiarity with internet based administrative support programs and electronic record keeping systems such as Unitime, Cascade, Concur, Docusign, Filelocker and/or Box preferred.
