The primary responsibility is to maintain and manage the Transportation Management System (TMS), ensuring accurate routing, driver assignments, and communication with families. Essential Functions: Transportation Management System (TMS) Management: •Develop and optimize bus routes. •Assign drivers to routes based on factors such as seniority, qualifications, and route complexity. •Monitor real-time bus locations and address any deviations from the planned route. •Utilize mapping and GPS technology to plan efficient routes and avoid traffic congestion. Communication and Coordination: •Communicate effectively with drivers, parents, and school staff via phone, email, and the Thrillshare platform. •Address parent concerns and provide timely updates on transportation-related issues.•Coordinate with school administrators to ensure timely student pickup and drop-off. Record Keeping and Reporting: •Maintain accurate records of bus routes, driver assignments, and incident reports. •Generate reports on transportation performance metrics, such as on-time performance and fuel consumption.•Assist with the preparation of budgets and procurement of transportation-related supplies and services. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: •Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Suite. Experience with transportation management software and GPS systems. •Problem-Solving and Decision-Making: Ability to analyze problems, identify solutions, and make timely decisions, especially during unexpected transportation disruptions. •Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accurate route planning and driver assignments. •Strong Organizational and Time Management Skills: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and meet deadlines. •Effective Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with diverse stakeholders. •Customer Service Orientation: Ability to provide excellent customer service to parents, students, and school staff. Qualifications
- E ducation: Associate's degree or equivalent relevant experience
- Experience: At least two years of administrative assistant experience, preferably in a transportation or logistics setting
- Driving Record: No more than one moving violation in the past three years
- Language Skills: Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
