+ POSITION SUMMARY

+

+ The Administrative Assistant is responsible for medical office clerical work that supports Cuyuna Regional Medical Home Health, Palliative and Hospice Care to provide care of the patient in their home. This position would provide oversight to the efficient, timely operation of the clerical portion of CRMC Home Health, Palliative and Hospice Program. Job Duties will include, but are not limited to: maintenance of the patient medical record, proficiency with Home Health and Hospice Documentation Software, support to the billing work of caring for the home health/hospice patient, organize clerical workflows, facilitate effective communication with excellent customer service skills and support the staff and patient needs of CRMC Home Health and Hospice.

+ POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

+ Education and Experience:

+ Graduate from a one or two-year accredited Medical Secretary Program is preferred. Previous medical record experience or knowledge of the operation of the Medical Office/Medical Record Department. Successful completion of data entry, medical terminology, and general clerical standards administered by Cuyuna Regional Medical Center Human Resources staff.

+ + Ability to deal with the public and answer questions in a professional manner.

+ Ability to sit for long periods of time and do light lifting.

+ Proficient with accurate data entry

+ Proficient with Microsoft Word, EXCELL and Microsoft Outlook and calendar functions.

+ ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

+ + Assist the Director of Home Care/Hospice as needed.

+ Responsible for collection and submission of home health and hospice regulatory data, patient satisfaction surveys, hospice data, home care data submission to CMS and other regulatory bodies.

+ Responsible for the update of annual regulatory documents.

+ Responsible for emergency and disaster information.

+ Manage not-for-profit donations for hospice.

+ Oversee clinical data as it relates to billing. Responsible for resolution of reports for claim submission.

+ Compile time sheet data and process payroll ensuring all data is accurate and verified.

+ Perform accounting tasks and obtain statistical data for the Department of Home Care/Hospice services.

+ Coordinate Home Health Aide Assignments.

+ Track department vacation requests and prepare staff schedule.

+ Responsible for development and upkeep of Home Care Intranet.

+ Responsible for the new hire equipment and network access. New hire orientation to payroll, phones and other office policy and procedure. New Hire education enrollment.

+ Complete Department Meeting Minutes.

+ Track employee absences and communicate to Director.

+ Responsible for medical record maintenance and upkeep of the chart/information, filling, scanning and retrieval.

+ Maintain and clean office equipment as needed.

+ Report any equipment failure to supervisor and call for repairs if directed.

+ Report the need for and/or order supplies as needed.

+ Meet with medical secretary staff on a regular basis to develop plans, discuss problems and to facilitate both upward and downward communication channels.

+ Communicate all appropriate information to the Director.

+ Jointly interview, with the Director, all medical secretaries.

+ Demonstrate Standards of Excellence when other duties are assigned.
