Job description: This position performs complex clerical work which requires the utilization of typing skills and the application of independent judgment. Work normally involves making independent decisions concerning the clerical process to be followed, the appropriateness of the information to be processed, and the actions taken.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF JOB:

Types and copies letters, reports, memos and other documents as required by program staff.

Enters and updates pertinent information in the internal Client Database and HCSIS/Pelican for new/current Early Intervention (EI) consumers.

Enters pertinent information on the Early Intervention referral website. Receives information from the providers regarding availability times for services, contacts families with availability offers, confirms acceptance of times with providers and enters information into the PELICAN system.

Enters pertinent information in an Excel Spreadsheet for Early Intervention Referrals received from families, physician offices, Cumberland County Children & Youth, and etc.

Scan EI consumer documents into Laserfiche.

Greets and assists general public when they enter office

Answers telephone and takes messages, handles inquiry and/or transfers calls to proper individual.

ADDITIONAL PRIMARY JOB DUTIES:

* Retrieve, open, date stamp, sort, and deliver the mail internally.

* Handles the notification letters regarding CASSP meetings; school agreements; and creates folders for the consumers.

* Assists department staff with special projects, reports or assignments as requested.

OTHER DUTIES OF JOB:

* Attend meetings and trainings as needed.

* Operates computer and software programs and any other office equipment as necessary to carry out jobduties.

* Performs other job related duties and support services as required (taking and retrieving mail from courthouse).

Minimum Experience and Training:

One year of progressively complex clerical experience and completion of high school; OR Six months of moderately complex clerical experience and completion of a post high school business curriculum; OR Any equivalent experience and/or training which provided the required knowledge and abilities.

* Meet the minimum experience and training for the job.

* Meritorious service: defined as the absence of any discipline above the level of written reprimand during the 12-months preceding the closing date of the posting.
