Consultant – Administrative Consultant - Office of Compliance and Oversight (Federal)

The Administrative Consultant will report directly to a Director-level GS-15 within the Office of Chief Information Officer (OCIO) at a large Federal Department. The successful candidate will perform all manner of administrative and business process consulting. This includes:

  • Document management
  • Meeting Scheduling
  • Task and Project coordination
  • Calendar management
  • Email correspondence
  • Data entry
  • Document organization
  • Research
  • Reporting assessments to executives or managers
  • Automating administrative tasks
  • Finding and eliminating redundancies

Support will include the review and analysis of large Federal IT acquisitions for compliance with applicable policies, and Federal-wide laws applicable to government IT. The successful Consultant will learn the client's business better than they know it themselves and become a trusted advisor and partner to them. The ideal candidate will provide advanced technical knowledge and analysis of a highly specialized area and operational environment, high-level functional analysis, documentation, training, and/or the implementation advice on complex problems, which require a high-level knowledge of the program.

The candidate will participate in all levels of development and provide overall guidance and direction for the improvement, modification, and re-designing of business workflow processes, policies and procedures, as well as composes and finalize work products, deliverables and project documentation.

Key responsibilities include:

Client responsibilities:

  • Daily client responsibilities and Tier 1 support for all administrative tasks listed above
  • Provide services, relevant to OMB, FITARA, MEGABYTE and other Department-specific policies
  • Exhibit expertise and familiarity with the following tools: Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams), Visio, SharePoint
  • Work with team to develop efficiencies and automations relevant to key tasks and activities

As the ideal candidate you must possess:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Washington DC-based and ability to commute to DC when needed for key client meetings
  • 3-5 years' relevant experience
  • MS Office Suite: Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams
  • Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment (onsite up to 3 days per week)
  • Ability to pass client clearance requirements (Public Trust)
  • Experience with Federal government professional services, including consulting
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to present a polished and professional image to clients
  • Ability to ‘manage the client' by forming close professional relationship and using their time wisely
  • Strong skills of resourcefulness and attention to detail

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in IT asset management
  • Understanding of procurement governance, processes and policies.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and assignments simultaneously
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and time management skills
  • Power BI or a willingness to learn
  • Working knowledge of IT business processes
  • Strong analytical skills – assertive and inquisitive manner that allows the individual to take even indirectly related and orally communicated information and transform it into actionable information
  • Experience developing and presenting briefings to senior executives
