Bachelor's degree in related field. Three years relevant experience in academic medicine or medical practice or experience in a related field. Medical or health professions education knowledge and experience is strongly preferred. Certifications may be required. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.

Nature & Purpose of Position

Performs advanced specialist duties for the SHSU College of Osteopathic Medicine by facilitating the credentialing process.

Primary Responsibilities

Performs administrative support duties. Reconciles and pays all invoices for vendors, preceptors, regional directors, and clerkship directors. Makes reservations, communicates information to students, reconciles invoices for the temporary housing for students and coordinators, and manages post occupancy requirements. Works with regional clinical coordinators, lead regional clinical coordinator, director, and assistant dean of clinical affairs for student clinical rotations. Manages the credentialing database. Works with the clinical education team, clinical sites, students, and preceptors to provide needed guidance and support in the clinical education of SHSU medical students. Orders and assembles the marketing materials and promotional items for the clinical education department. Orders office supplies. Manages the student's orientation requirements for clinical sites. Prepares annual clinical faculty roster for SHSU leadership. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Other Specifications

Requires detailed knowledge of university infrastructure, policies and procedures. Requires thorough knowledge of office systems. Must have the ability to solve operational problems and make suggestions for process improvement.
