Job Description Summary
The Administrative Coordinator II provides comprehensive administrative support for the James Benjamin Department of Accounting, working independently and collaboratively within different units in the department and college under general supervision. This position involves exercising discretion and independent judgment to manage daily operations and implement administrative policies. Key responsibilities include providing customer service support, managing communications, coordinating events, scheduling meetings, processing expenses, and managing travel arrangements. Additionally, the role supports department faculty and administrators, manages multiple priorities, and maintains effective administrative systems to ensure smooth operations and high service standards.

Responsibilities
Administrative support
Plans and coordinates, to include but not limited to, scheduling meetings, organizing information and materials for distribution to members, and maintaining database information. Applies, interprets, and communicates University policies and procedures. Resolves complex, highly sensitive and confidential administrative matters. Responds to non-routine information requests. Shared responsibility of office daily management with Executive Assistant II and maintains supply cabinets and room, and orders supplies as needed. Orders computers and furniture and equipment; manages the proper decommissioning of equipment and furniture moves. Responsible for departmental key inventory. Responds to student and other customers' inquiries.
Serves as payment card administrator and prepares expense reports. Coordinates booking travel for faculty and guests of the department. Completes the creation and maintenance and retention of office files and records. Provides oversight to student staff who are responsible for supporting in this area including work schedules, assignments to projects, monitoring student workers' performance and completing performance evaluations, and approving time sheets.
Teaching Support
Provides teaching support including (but not limited to) hiring and termination processing of all student workers, supervision and evaluation of certain student workers, scheduling night exams and proctors, ordering textbooks, sending teaching-related reminders to faculty, aiding classroom scheduling, monitoring course evaluation completion, and monitoring curricular requests.
Program Coordination
Participates in the planning and execution of with event planning/management and other administrative tasks associated with various undergraduate and graduate programs offered within the department under the direction of departmental administrators and program directors. Drafts program communication and distributes as needed. Performs other duties as assigned. Serves in a backup capacity to our Executive Assistant II.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
* Three years of office experience in office administration
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in higher education.
* Working knowledge of Texas A&M financial systems software, i.e. Concur, Aggiebuy.
* Working knowledge of Texas A&M administrative and teaching systems such as Canvas, Interfolio, Compass, etc.
* Five or more years of office management, administrative, or related experience.
* A Class C vehicle operator's license or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.

* Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation applications.
