Job Description:
The Wistar Institute has an opening for an Administrative Coordinator to join the IACUC & IRB Administration team. This individual will provide comprehensive administrative support as it relates to the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) and Institutional Review Board (IRB).Responsibilities:
  • Provides administrative support for protocol submission process.
  • Regularly communicates with committee members and faculty regarding pre-review, revisions, approval e-mails, vet and safety review, chair review determination, and DMR poll.
  • Manages calendar invites, sends reminder e-mails, disseminates meeting agenda, and follows-up on action items for the IACUC Task Force and IACUC Meetings.
  • Attends IACUC & IRB meetings and composes draft meeting minutes.
  • Communicates with committee members to confirm quorum, send reviewer assignments, etc.
  • Updates Ongoing Reviews spreadsheets.
  • Confirms training assignments in Wistar Learning for all new personnel.
  • Responsible for record keeping and tracking for Pilot Studies and Adverse Events.
  • Maintains ACUsers email list.
  • Maintains SharePoint site and website management for IACUC / Wistar Animal Facility website.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:A High school diploma or equivalent experience is required. The successful candidate will have exceptional communication, organization, and teamwork skills. Excellent typing and computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and database management required. Must be a self-starter with the ability to drive a project, think out of the box and strategize accordingly. A bachelor's degree in biology, lab animal science, or science-related field is preferred. Candidates with prior administrative experience with increasing levels of responsibility are highly preferred.
