Job Description:
Avarint is seeking an Administrative Coordinator to provided part-time or full-time support at its chemical laboratory located in Springville, New York. The candidate would be a member of Avarint's Chemical Sciences Group whose business is providing state-of-the art laboratory testing and R&D support to U.S. Government and commercial clients in the areas of Defense and Homeland Security. We welcome innovative and diverse talent, championing those eager to add value and productivity to our business.Primary Responsibilities: The Administrative Coordinator shall facilitate the efficient and cohesive operation of the laboratory by leading and supporting a variety of administrative and compliance activities associated with the operation of Avarint's chemical research and test facility. Duties shall include:
  • Providing administrative support to scientific team working at the laboratory.
  • Preparing, organizing and coordinating documentation and records associated with ongoing projects and other laboratory activities.
  • Assisting in the preparation, proofreading and editing of laboratory reports and regulatory documentation.
  • Processing, filing and tracking of shipping and receiving documents; and logging received items in accordance with project requirements.
  • Communicating oral and written information and instructions between laboratory staff and appropriate internal staff and external clients, vendors, regulators, etc.
  • Support the laboratory team in the development and maintenance of its Quality Management System.

Salary Range: $54,000 - $62,000 per yearRequirementsMinimum Qualifications:
  • Associates Degree in Business Administration, Communications or other relevant administrative or technical field with a minimum of three years of experience in an administrative or office management role.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with laboratory staff, colleagues and external clients, suppliers and regulators.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented with effective problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and meet the eligibility requirements for a U.S. Department of Defense security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Communications or other relevant administrative or technical field with 0 - 3 years of experience in a related role is highly desired.
  • Experience with ISO 9001 or other ISO Quality Management Systems.
  • Experience working in the life sciences and/or laboratory operations field.
Salary Description $54,000 - $62,000
