About CCSU's Nursing Department

Since the program's inception in 1981, the Department of Nursing has continued to grow and now offers four (4) academic programs (RN to BSN, traditional BSN, accelerated BSN, and MSN). The Department of Nursing, in accordance with Central Connecticut State University, believes that the primary goal of the nursing faculty is to empower students to attain the highest standards of professional achievement, public service, and personal development. The baccalaureate degree program in nursing and master's degree program in nursing at Central Connecticut State University are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.

Position Profile

The Administrative Faculty Program Associate will be performing a variety of basic operational duties within the Department of Nursing. As experience is gained, the successful incumbent will take on increasingly complex tasks related to program operations. Other key responsibilities will include but are not limited to: participating in trainings , conferences, committees, and meetings to enhance skills and knowledge; supporting employees of a higher grade in planning, coordinating, and executing services, programs, and events that may include outreach activities, surveys, customer service functions, and more; drafting correspondence, media publications, and prepare reports; collecting, analyzing, and maintaining data and databases related to the unit's operations; and may include providing basic direction to Student Workers, Graduate Assistants, Graduate Interns, and Cooperative Educational Interns as needed.

Applicant Evaluative Criteria

Applicant profiles and supplementary materials will be evaluated for appointment based on the following:

Education:

All applicants must possess Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a related area.

Experience and Training:

All applicants must possess two (2) years of professional experience in entry-level duties relevant to the Nursing or related field.

Note: Graduate Intern and/or Graduate Assistant experience in the area of study and/or practice of the designated unit and/or program shall be prorated as appropriate.

Substitution Allowed: Successful completion of an approved Administrative Faculty Trainee program shall substitute for minimal qualifications.

Certifications and successful completion of training programs may be required prior to or during appointment.

Compensation and Employee Benefits

The Administrative Faculty Program Associate is compensated at the Administrator II salary level in accordance with the State University Organization of Administrative Faculty (SUOAF) Collective Bargaining Union Agreement.
