South Central Academy Nurse Aide Training ProgramJOB SUMMARYJOB DESCRIPTION - NURSE ASSISTANT TRAINEEJOB SUMMARYTrain to assist nursing personnel in provision of basic care for residents and perform necessary unit tasks. Function in compliance with facility policies and procedures, applicable health care standards and MS State Department of Health guidelines. Function as a member of the health care team under the direct supervision of the RN or LPN, and report to the nursing supervisor in conformity with facility and regulatory policy.QUALIFICATIONS1. Must be at least 18 years of age2. Must be able to work fulltime hours and weekends3 Must be up-to-date on all immunizations.ORGANIZATIONAL EXPECTATIONS1. Promote a positive and professional representation of the organization.2. Promote a culture of safety through reporting, documentation, prevention, and infection control.3. Demonstrate excellent customer service through attitude and actions, consistent with the standards contained in the Vision, Mission, and Values of the organization.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSMust have physical ability to perform job-related duties satisfactorily, with reasonable accommodations when applicable, which may require lifting, standing, bending, transferring, stooping, stretching, walking, pushing and pullingESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/ ASSIGNED TASKS1. The individual enrolled in the Nurse Assistant Training Program (NATP) will receive training and competency evaluation as listed on the Nurse Aide Training Schedule and Skills Checklist.2. Upon successful completion of the program, the Nurse Assistant will work under the supervision of an LPN or RN to:a. Provide person-centered care and assistance with all activities of daily livingb. Communicate and interact therapeutically with residents and familiesc. Assist residents in attaining and maintaining maximal functional independenced. Protect, support and promote the rights of residentse. Demonstrate appropriate knowledge for safe use of medical equipmentf. Maintain safe and organized work operation by following policies and procedures
