Job Summary:
The Wisconsin Center for Origins Research (WiCOR) is a newly created multidisciplinary research center that connects researchers across multiple science-focused disciplines on collaborative projects focused on the origins of life in the universe. Join our team in this Administrative Manager role with an opportunity to become a part of this exciting and impactful work.
In this inaugural position, you will be focused on building the infrastructure, operations, and strategies that will serve WiCOR in years to come. The person in this role will wear many hats, and will be a key partner in representing and building the identity of the center. You will be responsible for a wide array of responsibilities, including administrative support, project management, event coordination, communication and marketing support, donor relations, preparation of center activity and financial reports, and coordinating & compiling grant proposals and reports.
Responsibilities:
Manages a program and/or programmatic activities. Initiates, develops, and implements operational services that support a defined project, program, work unit, or function to advance program goals and objectives. May supervise staff and/or approve unit expenditures.
* 10% Plans, implements, executes, and evaluates existing strategies and objectives for a program and makes recommendations to unit leadership for program or function enhancement
* 20% Identifies workflow needs, contributes to the development of strategic and operational solutions, allocates resources, and implements new or revised unit operational policies and procedures
* 25% Schedules logistics and secures resources for program activities across multiple work units to ensure optimum efficiency and compliance with appropriate policies, procedures, and specifications
* 10% Leads the development and preparation of periodic reports and financial statements, and records progress, status, or other special reports for leadership or external agencies
* 5% May assist in the development and monitoring of the unit or program budget and approve unit expenditures
* 10% Contributes to the preparation of proposals for funding and/or funding continuation from outside sponsors
* 20% Responsible for communication and marketing of WiCOR activities, accomplishments, and center philanthropic activities. This includes development and maintenance of WiCOR website, social media presence, and digital & print collateral.

Required Qualifications:
* Minimum 2 years of professional experience in a complex administrative role OR minimum 2 years of program administration/management experience
* Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
* Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively with numerous stakeholders from a variety of backgrounds
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
* Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and timelines
Preferred Qualifications:
* A scientific background and/or awareness relevant to WiCOR's mission
* Direct support of a unit director or similar position
* Event coordination and/or management experience
* Professional marketing and/or communications experience
* Donor stewardship experience

Salary:
Minimum $56,112 ANNUAL (12 months)
Depending on Qualifications
The typical starting salary for this position is $56,500 - $80,000 depending on qualifications and experience. Employees in this position can expect to receive benefits such as generous vacation, holidays and paid time off; competitive insurances and saving accounts; and retirement benefits.
