This position involves managing a wide range of administrative functions crucial to the department's operations. Key responsibilities include supervising daily administrative tasks such as patient scheduling, registration, and insurance authorization, ensuring that these tasks are performed efficiently and in compliance with internal standards and external regulations. The role also involves providing thorough training and orientation to administrative staff, monitoring their performance, and handling HR-related activities like performance evaluations, hiring, and disciplinary actions. This role provides administrative assistance to the division and Director. Additionally, the position includes developing and implementing policies and procedures to improve administrative efficiency, managing office spaces, and serving as a liaison for administrative staff in resolving escalated issues. The role requires strong supervisory, organizational, and interpersonal skills, along with a deep understanding of the department's processes and operational requirements. Working closely with the O&P Division Director, this role helps to expand administrative operations of the O&P Center across the UCSF Health System and serves as a key member of the O&P Executive Leadership Team.
Salary Information
The salary range for this position is $84,400 - $157,400 (Annual Rate). Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
Department Description
The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery is responsible for the department's academic, teaching, patient care professional services and research activities under the UCSF School of Medicine. The department has over 400 academic and staff personnel at multiple sites (UC, Mt. Zion, MB, SFGH, and VAMC). The UCSF Orthotic and Prosthetic (O&P) Center is a division within the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery that operates six clinical practices across the Bay Area, employing 22 clinical professionals (11 CPOs, 8 ATs, 3 residents) and provides care in both ambulatory and in-patient settings. Annually, O&P provides care for 7,000 ambulatory patients and approximately 3,000 inpatients. UCSF O&P regularly partners with Orthopaedic Surgery, Pediatrics and Pediatric Surgery, Neurology and Neurosurgery, Vascular Surgery, Rehabilitation Medicine, Internal Medicine, Family Practice Medicine, Urgent Care, and the Emergency Departments at Parnassus Heights, Mission Bay, and ZSFG, and the division serves as a critical adjunct to patients being treated across the UCSF health system.
