Summary This job opportunity is for an ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER, position description D1174000, within the NJARNG of the New Jersey National Guard. The purpose of this position is to provide subject matter expertise, leadership, consultation, collaboration, and advisory services essential to the direction and efficient operation of the organization. Responsibilities As an ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER, GS-0341-11, you will: Oversee administrative programs and projects that consist of a variety of functions, efforts result in increased accuracy, productivity and efficiency Provide expertise, guide team or independently conduct process improvement studies, impacting future organizational effectiveness and efficiency in support of all areas of Wing management Research, review, and analyze processes and procedures to determine the overall applicability, effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of activities and programs. Analyze current and proposed operating programs to evaluate actual and potential effectiveness in achieving organizational objectives Plans and assigns work to be accomplished through subordinates engaged in a variety of occupations. Perform as the historian, responsible to ensure timely, complete and accurate capture and cataloging of significant historical data, and generation of required reports Hears complaints and grievances from employees. Resolves problems informally and/or makes recommendations for resolution to appropriate officials. Approves and/or disapproves leave requests. Monitors and evaluates employee performance. Ensure internal systems and procedures for carrying out the organization's administrative functions meet the requirements of balancing costs, benefits, productivity, efficiency, and effectiveness Responsible for oversight and administration of Medical Boards, attachments, LODs, Medical Travel and Orders Process, MAR2 and case management overview within MHD. AOC 70 Series (Medical Service), AOC 42 Series (Administrative) Requirements Conditions of Employment Military Requirements Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. (Guidance established by NJ HRO-J1) Qualifications General Experience: Must have experience, education, or training in the following: Managing and directing one or more programs Supervisory, managerial, professional or technical work experience Knowledge of management principles, practices, methods, and techniques Skill in using computer and automation systems Specialized Experience: Must have 36 months experience, education, or training in the following: Ability in analyzing problems, identifying significant factors, gathering pertinent data and recognizing solutions Ability in preparing reports, plans, policies and various correspondence Ability to evaluate objectives and develop plans to facilitate the availability and effective utilization of various resources Knowledge of the organization and its mission and utilized the organizational staff procedures Ability to develop the mission and work process of programs throughout the military organization and multi level agencies Education There are no education requirements for this vacancy announcement Additional Information THIS IS A TEMPORARY position T32: This position is projected for one year and may be extended.
