Office of Employee and Business Services
The Office of Employee and Business Services (OEBS) manages the agency's administrative services, including human resources, facility operations and organizational development. OEBS and its component bureaus support the primary goal of the ODJFS by providing continuous, accurate and timely administrative services to the program areas within the department. What You'll Do
Job Duties:
* Provides secretarial and non-routine administrative support
* Operates personal computer using applicable software applications
* Utilizes databases to prepare documents and reports
* Prepares correspondence, proofreads, and edits documents
* Reviews I-9s for accuracy and files appropriately
* Works with support staff as forms coordinator to review and update ODJFS forms
* Assists Human Capital Management and administrative staff on special assignments
* Maintains human resources records
* Assists in onboarding new employees
* Provides daily communication regarding policy, procedures, and guidance to office staff
Necessary Skills:
* Problem-solving
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and writing
* Good interpersonal skills
* Excellent organizational skills
* Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
* Experience with Adobe
* Knowledge of records management
* Ability to multi-task, work independently, and as a team
Schedule:
* Position is hybrid; work one (1) day in office at the Rhodes State Office Tower
Travel:
* Travel is as needed to in-person meetings

The ideal candidate, at minimum, must have the following:
OPTION 1:
* Completion of associate core coursework in secretarial science or business office applications from accredited career school or community college;
AND
* 12 months experience in secretarial/administrative professional field.
Option 2:
* 30 months experience or training in secretarial/administrative professional field.
Option 3:
* 12 months experience as Administrative Professional 2, 16872 or Administrative Professional 3, 16873
Option 4:
* Equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above.

Pay Information
This position is in the State of Ohio's E1 Pay Schedule, Pay Range 10. Unless required by legislation or union contract, starting salary will be the minimum salary of that pay range (step 1, currently $25.76 per hour). These ranges provide a standardized pathway for pay increases. With continued employment, new hires move to the next step in the range after 6 months and annually thereafter. Cost of Living Adjustments increase wages in these ranges each fiscal year. The current step progression wages are in the table below.
