Primary Purpose
Performs or supports various administrative assignments, including special projects; rotates through Parkland departments, completes assigned leadership development activities, and contributes to administrative meetings to learn hospital administration through direct experience.
Minimum Specifications
Education
- Must be selected for residency rotation for graduate credit or have completed Master's degree in Healthcare Administration or Public Health Administration within the last two years.
Experience
- Prefer six months experience in a patient- facing, health care setting.
- Prefer three months experience reviewing and analyzing health data and/or healthcare finance information.
- Prefer experience planning and facilitating meetings.
- Prefer experience giving project-related presentations.
Skills or Special Abilities
- Must possess basic computer skills.
- Must possess good verbal and written communication skills.
Responsibilities
Performs departmental rotations, per the Administrative Residency itinerary.Performs various administrative projects as identified and selected.Serves as administrator on call to handle information releases, disaster plans, patient transfers, complaints, etc. to ensure that the hospital has administrative leadership at all times.Prepares and presents review materials and participates in rotational debriefing sessions.Maintains a positive working relationship with all departments, management, vendors, employees, and other hospitals to ensure that all job contacts are pleasant and productive.Plans and coordinates relevant meetings including but not limited to Leadership Forum, Town Halls, Board Meetings, Chief meetings. Determines location, prepares, and distributes materials, obtains speakers, sets agendas, and ensures proper attendance of necessary personnel to ensure that meetings take place and are productive.Conducts hospital tours to assist administration with special needs.

Identifies ways to improve work processes and improve customer satisfaction. Makes recommendations to supervisor, implements, and monitors results as appropriate in support of the overall goals of the department and Parkland.Stays abreast of the latest developments, advancements, and trends in the field by attending seminars/workshops, reading professional journals, actively participating in professional organizations, and/or maintaining certification or licensure. Integrates knowledge gained into current work practices.Maintains knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, policies, laws, and guidelines that impact the area. Develops effective internal controls designed to promote adherence with applicable laws, accreditation agency requirements, and federal, state, and private health plans. Seeks advice and guidance as needed to ensure proper understanding
