JOB DESCRIPTION
QUALIFICATIONS:
* High School Diploma or equivalent.
* Satisfactory completion of business/secretary skills training.
* Demonstrated proficiency in computerized data entry skills.
* Minimum of three (3) years of successful secretarial experience.
* Or other appropriate certificates/licenses required by the District.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of School Board policies and practices as they relate to job assignment. Knowledge of office practices and procedures. Knowledge of various office equipment including copier, fax, Risograph and intercom system. Knowledge of and ability to use word processing, databases and spreadsheet applications. Skill in human interaction and conflict resolution. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to plan, organize and prioritize activities related to assignment. Ability to carry out job responsibilities and handle sensitive information in a confidential manner. Ability to work independently and make decisions with minimum supervision. Ability to compose correspondence and prepare reports in an articulate manner. Ability to answer a telephone in a professional and courteous manner. Ability to work cooperatively with others. Ability to tolerate highly stressful situations on occasion.

JOB GOAL
To perform the duties and functions of the position so that the effectiveness and efficiency of the office is maintained.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Service Delivery
* (1)Input required student and staff data into the Management Information System.
* (2)Maintain all appropriate school files.
* (3)Maintain internal account procedures and assist responsible school personnel in keeping appropriate records as assigned.
* (4)Prepare and process purchase orders and requisitions for school materials and supplies as required.
* (5)Complete and maintain all appropriate correspondence as directed by the principal.
* (6)Act as a receptionist, greeting the public in a courteous and helpful manner.
* (7)Assist staff and public by answering routine questions, scheduling appointments and completing forms.
* (8)Prepare forms for leave requests and arrange for substitute teachers as needed.
* (9)Provide proper distribution of all incoming telephone calls and incoming and outgoing mail.
* (10)Process the payroll and maintain payroll files as assigned.
* (11)Provide for the collection of fees as assigned.
* (12)Process work order requests as assigned.
* (13)Distribute report cards, process reports and other communication as assigned.
* (14)Assist with attendance and sign-in and sign-out of students as assigned.
* (15)Make bank deposits as appropriate.
* (16)Substitute in the classroom as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force as frequently as needed to move objects.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the District's approved compensation plan.
Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by the District.
EVALUATION:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of personnel.
Applicant must hold appropriate certification or show evidence of appropriate certification eligibility for this position.
