The Administrative Services Associate II position is a meaningful and challenging position for anyone who enjoys working both independently and in a team environment. Real property sales serve as an essential for the appraiser, and the ASA II is at the center of the process by transferring sales which assist the appraiser in the valuation process. The ASA II will learn and use technologies specific to the real estate and appraisal fields, and will be able to confidently answer questions that the citizens of Lynchburg have concerning their properties and assessments. Starting pay $16.92/hour.
Essential Duties
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties necessary to deliver services to customers and citizens may be assigned.
* Data cleansing of 31,000 parcels for billing purposes and legal history, custom CAMA system (experience preferred, but can be trained)
* Learning new and interesting technologies
* Conducts 60-year title searches, specific to annexation
* Reads and interprets survey plats and land descriptions in real estate documents
* Utilizes various maps, as well as Parcel Viewer on a daily basis; ability to train and assist users as well
* Researches various types of deeds, wills, affidavits, etc., in order to transfer properties correctly
* Explains and initiates Real Estate Rehab Program criteria
* Utilizes Nearmap to compare sketches of all dwellings/buildings in ProVal
* Updates mailing addresses
* Manages reviews and appeals during reassessment; serves as first point of contact for citizens with valuation questions
* Serves as the first point of contact for internal/external customers over the phone, through email, and in person
* Files important office documents both physically and digitally
* Processes payroll and invoices for the department
ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS
* Other duties to provide direct or indirect service to the citizens may be assigned.
* When unusual situations occur and/or the City Manager declares a State of Emergency, all City employees may be required to accept special assignments and perform as needed to ensure appropriate service delivery.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory duties.

Education, Experience and Technical Skills
Graduation from high school. Completion of additional technical classes. Some (6 months - 2 years) general administrative support work experience. Demonstrates intermediate Microsoft Office skills, advanced skills in at least MS Office application, and basic skill in specific job related application and equipment.
Additional Requirements
* Must successfully complete IS100 and IS700 National Incident Management (NIMS) training within 90 days of employment. May also be required to complete higher levels of NIMS training as determined appropriate for the position.
* Depending on work assignment, may be required to obtain Notary Public license.
* Relevant background checks must be completed and approved.
