Overview
This position supports DCF's Commissioner's Registry Review Unit (CRRU) and the ten contracted administrative registry reviewers who conduct reviews of the Family Services Division's substantiation determinations and consider petitions for expungement on the Commissioner's behalf. The work includes processing and tracking review requests from beginning to end. This position will support other administrative staff, the reviewers, and the CRRU Director in this small, but consistently busy, unit. This individual will primarily be responsible for redacting sensitive and confidential investigative documents. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in paying attention to detail, managing a heavy workload, and producing accurate and reliable documents while under the pressure of statutory timeframes and dealing with what can be disturbing subject matter involving the abuse and neglect of children. While the ability to produce quality work independently is crucial, this position is part of a team that requires cooperation, reliable communication, and accurate file documentation by all staff. Additional duties include communicating with grievants and/or their attorneys about their review eligibility, determining if a stay is allowed under statute, filing motions with the courts for additional materials or to unseal records, scheduling meetings, mailing redacted investigative materials, providing reviewers with materials they need, mailing determination letters, maintaining a master database of all review requests received, keeping statistics of open cases and creating reports when needed, updating registry database with names of individuals being placed on/removed from the registry, and communicating with Human Services Board staff regarding appeals. Must be able to play 'Super-Sleuth' to make sure the unit is put on the correct path to conduct reviews properly.
