Do you enjoy helping Vermonters in need and working with committed conservation professionals through complex challenges?The Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation is seeking a versatile and driven candidate to join our team as the Healthy Homes Initiative Supervisor (Administrative Services Manager II). The position oversees efforts to provide funding to underserved and overburdened Vermonters through the Environmental Assistance Office's Healthy Homes Initiative. The Healthy Homes Initiative has allocated over $40 million of funding for projects that must be completed by September 2026.This position will focus on supervising and leading a team working with individuals or communities who have received funding through the Department's Healthy Homes Initiative. These projects focus on providing financial assistance to (1) low-income Vermonters in need of replacing or repairing failed water or wastewater systems and (2) manufactured housing communities to complete water infrastructure upgrades and projects.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Planning and leading the Healthy Homes InitiativeOverseeing the program and coordinating with internal staff on program development and operationsOverseeing public relations and external coordination, including building relationships with partner organizations and maintaining processes to provide excellent customer service to members of the publicSupervising the four (4) Accessible Assistance Specialists in the programEnsuring funds are being administered in compliance with rules and regulationsThe ideal candidate is self-motivated and patient, has excellent written and oral communication skills, manages time effectively and multitasks routinely, has strong organization skills, meets deadlines, and is able to work independently and as a team member with other Division and Agency staff.This position is a limited-service position, meaning that funding is approved for a term. Benefits and pay are identical to a permanent service position. The current term for the position is authorized until December 31, 2026.Work is accomplished primarily in a standard office setting but can require travel to various meetings or site visits, for which access to reliable transportation for in-state travel may occasionally be necessary. This work is performed under the general supervision of the Environmental Assistance Office Program Manager. Considerations for teleworking are a possibility in consultation with the supervisor.This position, Administrative Services Manager II - Healthy Homes Initiative Supervisor - Limited Service (Job Requisition #51388) , is open to all State employees and external applicants.
