Description : The Tennessee Department of Health (TDH) has an opening for an Administrative Services Manager (ASM) to serve as a Program Manager within the Communicable and Environmental Diseases and Emergency Preparedness Division (CEDEP). Below you will find an overview of the roles and responsibilities for this position. This is a hybrid remote/in-office position that also requires up to 30% travel, and the chosen candidate will be expected to report to the office in Nashville, TN, and travel to offsite locations across the state as requested to fulfill the duties of this role. Roles and Responsibilities: The Administrative Services Manager (ASM) is a grant-funded, contract position responsible for serving as a Program Manager for the TDH Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Program. The ASM will be responsible for program and project management, developing written guidance and visualizations, providing oral presentations to professional audiences, and engaging in continuous process improvement and evaluation. Duties/responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to: Serve as the primary Program Manager for Mental Health First Aid Program in rural public health regions, Metro Health Departments, and community-based organizations in TN Conduct trainings as a certified Mental Health First Aid Instructor for Health Department staff and community partners, traveling statewide as needed Provide mentorship and support to TDH's MHFA instructors in assigned regions Develop grant-related progress reports, annual reports, or workplans as appropriate and as requested by supervisor or team lead; provide grant and budget input and support as requested Assist with maintaining databases and spreadsheets, ensuring data quality. Create or generate status reports for team/supervisor as requested Create professional written communications and visualizations, such as infographics and one-pagers, ensuring content aligns with established guidelines and best practices Prepare and provide mental health-related oral presentations for professional audiences, ensuring content aligns with established best practices and frameworks Proactively identify areas for program and process improvement and develop innovative solutions for identified issues Attend and lead meetings for MHFA instructors, MHFA vendor, public health staff, and community partners Conduct outreach in the community to recruit and train target populations, such as first responders, educators, and other healthcare professionals Serve as liaison for mental health-related workgroups and collaborations Assist with ad hoc mental health initiatives and requests as directed by supervisor Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of mental health topics and passion for promoting mental wellbeing required Advanced experience with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Current Mental Health First Aid Instructor certification preferred Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Excellent written communication and business grammar skills required REDCap experience preferred but not required Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team Conflict management Ability to handle important matters while maintaining confidentiality Proficiency with building, updating, and maintaining spreadsheets, presentation software, and working efficiently in multiple databases Utilize effective time management in conjunction with communication to create realistic expectations for others Grant or contract management experience preferred
