November 5, 2024 - November 15, 2024 POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT Administrative Specialist 1 Salary Grade 18: $61,811 (Hiring Rate) - $70,591 (Mid-Rate) The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene, Inc. is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Administrative Specialist 1 at the New York State Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS) to work with the Acting Deputy Commissioner for Programs to provide professional administrative support. The Administrative Specialist 1 must be able to adapt to a fast-paced work environment with changing needs and priorities. A successful candidate will possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills, ability to evaluate and summarize complex topics and issues, proficiency in written and oral communication, effective time management, and ability to prioritize multiple tasks. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Administer communications by preparing and keeping track of correspondence and answering questions from staff, the public, elected and appointed officials. Prepare speeches, talking points, and PowerPoint presentations for the Deputy Commissioner. Develop briefing materials for meetings, events, and forums. Conduct research about issues related to OASAS programs and services. Prepare analysis of programs and initiatives, policies, regulations, and legislation. Assist the Deputy Commissioner with meeting scheduling, preparation, and note taking. Accompany the Deputy Commissioner to meetings and events. Complete travel forms and track administrative data. Any other assigned tasks as necessary. Minimum Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree and two years of experience in providing professional administrative, and staff support through oversight of an organization or program area activities; OR An Associate's degree and four years of full-time experience described above; OR Six years of full-time experience described above. Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office programs. Some knowledge of the OASAS system of care.
