SALARY: The salary range for this position is $76,423.34 to $119,103.64 for Schedule A, and $76,423.34 to $113,148.46 for Schedule B. For newly hired individuals, the starting salary will normally be at the minimum of the salary range. For current Judiciary employees, salary upon promotion or advancement will be an increase of 5% of base salary, not to exceed the maximum of the range, or the minimum salary of the band/level, whichever is greater.Judiciary employees hired prior to June 3, 2014, are considered Schedule A. Newly hired individuals, and Judiciary employees hired on or after June 3, 2014, are considered Schedule B. The Judiciary offers a strong opportunity for growth. The Atlantic/Cape May Vicinage is seeking a conscientious professional who possesses strong interpersonal, communication, analytical and writing skills to join the Family Division. Under the direction of the Court Executive 2B (Family Division Manager) and/or Court Executive 1B (Assistant Family Division Manager), the selected candidate will conduct hearings to establish, modify and enforce child support; order temporary restraints in domestic violence cases; mediate custody and parenting time issues; conduct hearings involving juvenile delinquency matters; manage supervised visitation and parent education program; and assist with analyzing statistical data and reports. The selected candidate will take testimony, apply laws and facts to make recommendations consistent with New Jersey Laws and statutes, prepare orders detailing clear findings of fact, and discuss cases and legal analysis with Superior Court Judges. The selected candidate will assist with compiling data and statistics of Family Part cases and programs, draft reports, participate in local and statewide committees, and perform other professional tasks assigned by the Family Division executive team. REMOTE WORK: The Judiciary currently offers a hybrid work schedule, and this position may qualify for up to 2 days of remote work outside of Judiciary buildings. To participate in this program, in addition to installing a multifactor authentication app on your phone or tablet, you will be required to have high speed home internet access. Example of DutiesSee Above Description Qualifications Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in behavioral or social science, as specified in the Domestic Violence Hearing Officer Program Standards. Five years of professional experience including three years of experience in the areas of domestic violence or family crisis. Note: An official or unofficial transcript MUST be submitted at the time of application to determine an applicant's eligibility. Substitution: A master's degree from an accredited college or university may be substituted for one year of experience. Admission to the NJ Bar and one year of experience in family law, which shall include work involving domestic violence, may be substituted for one year of the required experience. Mediation Training Note: It is helpful to have completed a recognized mediation training program consisting of 40 hours of instruction prior to appointment. If an applicant has not yet completed the specialized family mediation training, they must certify the intention to complete the specialized training within one year from the date of appointment. Education Note: Degrees conferred outside of the United States must be evaluated by a recognized evaluation service. Authorization to Work: US citizenship is not required. Selected candidate must be authorized to work in the US according to Department of Homeland Security, US Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations. Special Note: Newly hired employees must agree to a thorough background check that will include fingerprinting. Residency Law: In accordance with N.J.S.A. 52:14-7 (L. 2011, Chapter 70), the New Jersey First Act, all persons newly hired by the Judiciary within one year must establish, and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey. Any person may request an exemption from that requirement from the Employee Residency Review Committee in the Department of Labor & Workforce Development on the basis of either hardship or employer critical need.
