Established in 1968, the Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania is an intermediate appellate court responsible for matters involving state and local government, including appeals from state agencies and the Courts of Common Pleas. This position requires a variety of work including regularly answering user questions and requests related to PACMS capabilities, user security, case statistics, process flow, and proper data entry consistent with any given scenario. Common duties and user requests are expected to be handled with a level of independence, with direction and support from the Reporter for new or less common requests. The individual should be detail oriented, professional, organized, able to provide detailed updates of accomplished tasks, and must be able to work well with others.Primary Duties
- Review PACMS case actions to ensure adherence to processes and procedures and advise users how to take corrective action regarding errors, omissions, or deviation from established procedures
- Stay up to date with existing PACMS reporting capabilities and make recommendations for new or updated reports
- Respond to user data inquiries by recommending appropriate reports or review requests with the Reporter to determine if new reports are needed
- Assist in compiling recurring and ad-hoc statistical reports
- Track new and recurring issues for follow-up in recurring trainings or system enhancement meetings
- Help facilitate recurring user trainings as needed
- Handle user account on-and-off boarding, updates, questions and ensures proper setup of users with notification of completed actions
- Assist with creation and updates to process and procedure documentation as needed
- Perform related work, as assigned, supporting the Reporter
Additional Preferences / Requirements
- Thorough knowledge of court procedures and policies, legal documents, and the litigation process.
- Thorough knowledge of the Court's organizational structure, operations, functions.
- Thorough knowledge of modern office practices and procedures including use of Microsoft based computer products, proficient at data entry.
- Ability to understand and follow complex oral and written instructions.
- Ability to make work decisions in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Attention to detail including professional document preparation, data entry review, and process adherence
- Be self-motivated
- Possess excellent communication skills
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; AND
- Seven years of experience within a court setting related to case processing; AND
- Five years of experience with PACMS/CPCMS/MDJS; OR
- An equivalent combination of education and experience, or training may be considered.
- A satisfactory criminal background check is required.
