Administrative Specialist III Job no: 534199 Work type: Staff Full-Time Location: Main Campus (Gainesville, FL) Categories: Office/Administrative/Fiscal Support, Health Care Administration/Support Department:29040100 - MD-ANESTHESIOLOGY-GENERAL Classification Title: Administrative Spec III Job Description: Direct department quality and patient safety support for the Pain Medicine and Critical Care Organization Teams. Manages existing data, collaborates for new quality metrics, provides high impact reports, communicates regularly with stakeholders and champions progress to achieve desired improvement goals. Maintains department clinical resources and facilitates ease of access for all anesthesia clinicians, in partnership with the Communications & Publishing Team . Collaborates with department leadership, the interdisciplinary IT teams, and faculty in the provision, analysis, interpretation and publication of clinical data. Ensures standardization and oversight of data collection procedures with an emphasis on data validity and integrity. Provide oversight for management and integrity of quality data and analytical support and assist the Department Director of Quality in screening Peer Review Issues and Patient Safety Reports. Researches, develops and assists in the composition of papers or posters, special purpose reports and other documents for use in presentations, program development, policy formulation and other program-specific purposes. Serves as a highly visible, energetic champion of quality and patient safety and works closely with frontline healthcare delivery team, other quality performance leaders to continuously improve safety, effectiveness, efficiency, patient- centered care, and equity of healthcare services. Leads the educational program organization, coordination, communication, recruitment and tracking, for all anesthesia clinicians on equipment in-services (new and recurring), regulatory requirements, in-situ simulation and quality and patient safety tools/refreshers. Quality improvement project manager for all the anesthesia clinicians in the Department. Receives quality improvement project submissions, prepares and leads discussion at APIC, provides feedback to teams, follow-up, ongoing support with check-ins, and reporting/publishing on all improvement progress. Supports growth and expansion of the Department Quality and Patient Safety Program in direct collaboration with department stakeholders . Supports the Chair of the Anesthesiology Performance Improvement Committee (APIC) through meeting management, agenda, presentation and minute preparation, and follow-through. Teaches the foundation of quality and patient safety to all anesthesia clinicians at set intervals during onboarding and as needs are identified. Expected Salary: $70,000 - $80,000 - commensurate with education and experience Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree and five years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in Healthcare Administration or Business Administration and graduation from an accredited BSN The incumbent must have a working knowledge of operating room operations and anesthesiology's role in ensuring perioperative success. Experience in clinical healthcare delivery or advanced knowledge of clinical healthcare delivery roles and responsibilities. The incumbent must have highly developed organizational skills, solid judgement and decision-making skills, a capacity to resolve competing priorities with limited resources, and a demonstrated ability to establish and manage excellent relationships to work effectively with people, data, and processes within a complex healthcare environment. Advanced knowledge and use of IT systems, tools, business intelligence solutions, data analysis, and reporting. Demonstrated knowledge of risk management process, PDSA and rapid cycle improvement systems, and root cause analysis. Knowledge of analytic techniques and metrics used in analysis of healthcare data Experience preparing and presenting information.
