The Housing & Community Development Division creates and maintains a viable urban community by providing affordable housing opportunities, neighborhood improvements, human services and expanded economic opportunities, principally for low and moderate-income residents of Orange County. The Housing & Community Development Division is seeking two experienced Administrative Specialist. This position is responsible for coordinating and providing administrative/clerical support to the assigned division/section. The role is responsible for assisting with day-to-day functions of the assigned area and for performing a variety of administrative support tasks including communicating with internal county staff.
Work is performed under the general supervision of assigned supervisor and is reviewed through reports and logs for accuracy and achievement of desired results.

Job Description
Representative Duties/Assignments
* Serves as an information resource for County employees and general public on routine matters. Routes visitors to appropriate staff members and requested location
* Performs a variety of routine clerical and receptionist duties, e.g., mail distribution, filing, appointment/meeting scheduling, purchase orders, completing standard county forms and reviewing documents etc.
* Participates in emergency activities/response.
* Coordinate with Division staff to complete payroll / Kronos timesheets.
* Responsible for handling confidential information and keeping it secure
* Performs data entry as applicable
* Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from high school or equivalent and two years of experience in clerical or secretarial work oran equivalent combination of relevant education or experience may be substituted on a year for year basis.
Preferences
* Familiarity with Housing and Community Development programs is a plus
* Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
* Bilingual (English/Spanish)

Pay Grade: 010 - From $17.57 to $21.52
