Job Description:
The Administrative Specialist assists the Vice President of Communications and Community Engagement through day-to-day oversight and coordination of administrative and operational functions of the development department, including day to day functions of the Raiser's Edge database, project management, donor communication, and support activities for child welfare programs.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Support activities for child welfare programs including the SCC Angels Holiday Gift Drive, Gift Card Distribution, SCC Conference, Foster Parent Appreciation, Back to School Events, Reunification Events, etc. for child welfare programs.
  • Responsible for maintaining Raiser's Edge donor database including gift entry, transactions, and updates; database management, data integrity; accurate constituent information; and all related database and operational activities related community support of foster care, adoptions, and child-welfare programs in a timely manner; responds to requests for queries and reports as needed.
  • Support implementation of online tools such as JotForm, MailChimp, and other online marketing platforms to support child welfare programs.
  • Conduct research and provide reports to assist in business development strategies for stakeholder support of child welfare programs as needed.
  • Assistance in the implementation of all related campaigns activities.
  • Assist with key initiatives and special events as needed including logistics, and communication vendors and constituents.
  • Attend community events as requested to represent foster care, adoptions, and child-welfare programs.
  • Complete departmental administrative tasks as requested including processing incoming/outgoing correspondence and making stakeholder appointments.
  • Prepare community information packages, resources, and collateral materials as requested.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
RequirementsEDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:Must possess a bachelor's degree, preferably in Information Technology (focused on database management), Communication and/or Public Relations. Minimum one to two years of work-related experience in nonprofit development, accounting, or databased management preferred. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills. Detail oriented. Strong knowledge of Raiser's Edge, MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously and complete projects by deadlines. Excellent work ethic, time management, and organizational skills.
