Job Description:

Serves as an unclassified employee pursuant to Section 3301.13 O.R.C. and performs the following educational and/or research duties:

Administrator in the Office of Educator Talent and Leadership; directs, designs, and implements comprehensive systems approach to human capital management that includes the following: Collaboratively works to support the Department's work in the development of school and district leaders from a state level perspective.

* Assists in the development of professional development and resources to support principal instructional leadership

* Networks with key administrator professional organizations (e.g. BASA, OAESA, OASSA, OASBO, etc.), national partners, and educator leadership preparation programs in collaboration with the Ohio Department of Higher Education and institutions of higher education as directed

* Collaborates with other agency offices to coordinate the leadership component of school improvement efforts

* Develops tools and services to support leadership development in Ohio's lowest performing schools and districts

* Collaborates with colleagues from other Ohio State Agencies to ensure coordinated messaging to the field and cooperation on issues/policies/topics that involve multiple state agencies

* Supports the development and subsequent implementation of Ohio's Principal Apprenticeship

* Designs model programs that are clinically based and focus on teacher leadership

* collaborates with Ohio Department of Education and Workforce (DEW) & Section personnel to improve products & services;

* monitors work toward achieving center & office strategic goals;

* communicates with internal & external customer groups;

* gathers customer requirements to guide development of programs, tools, & services;

* makes presentations;

* consults with various stakeholder groups;

* creates policy papers for senior center & agency leadership.

Additional duties include, but are not limited to, the following as a member of the Department's leadership team:

* Supports coordination of program and research/evaluation initiatives;

* Monitors and evaluates work toward accomplishing agency-wide goals, strategies and performance measures;

* Represents Department at meetings or functions if directed;

* Ensures processes are aligned with strategic priorities of the Department (e.g., policy development, workflow, and communications);

* Supports the implementation of the Department's strategic priorities;

* Monitors project timelines and ensures project completion;

* Researches national trends and leadership best practices (e.g., evidence-based practices, implications);

* Works with office administrators to ensure the climate and culture represents a healthy and productive workplace;

* Conducts performance evaluations of staff with emphasis on professional growth.

Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

* Master's degree in Educational Administration.

* Holds current Ohio administrative license

* Evidence of implementing innovative educational practices

* Experience in developing new and current leaders

* Experience as school and district leader, superintendent experience preferred

Unusual Working Conditions: Requires travel throughout State of Ohio & may require overnight stay. (Must be willing & able to secure a valid Driver's License OR supply your own transportation).
