The Outreach & Engagement Coordinator will work together with the faculty Principal Investigator and Project Manager to plan, coordinate, and manage outreach and engagement activities related to the implementation of the federally funded relationship education initiative housed in the Dept. of Human Development and Family Science. The job responsibilities will span across two projects focused on delivery and evaluation of relationship education for youth and couples. Essential Functions This position involves a number of distinct responsibilities that include but are not limited to:
- Implementing recruitment and retention efforts for community-based couples education classes primarily in the Lee County and surrounding areas. This involves explaining the project goals and benefits offered, assessing areas of need, enrolling couples in the program, and providing follow up communications to enhance program and research study retention. These activities are done in coordination with the Partnership Coordinator for the couples project who oversees these activities at all sites.
- Assisting in the development of marketing plans and publicity materials for distribution to target audience;
- Offering and conducting case management meetings for couples as needed;
- Co-facilitating relationship education classes for adults and youth;
- Coordinate with the Youth Program Coordinator on youth relationship education program training and delivery, fidelity checks, and continuous quality improvement. This involves direct training and monitoring of near-peer facilitators and training updates for community-based educators.
- Provide technical assistance for youth relationship education sites and partnering schools
- Assist with maintaining and building, as needed, partnerships with schools for youth program implementation
- Coordinate with Leadership Team on compliance with university and federal policies and assist with report preparation for funder, stakeholders, and academic audiences.
Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in discipline appropriate to position plus 2 years of experience in the design, implementation, delivery and management of educational programs/services.
- The successful candidate must meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States at the time the appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the proposed term of employment.
Minimum Skills, License, and Certifications Minimum Skills and Abilities
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Familiarity with research-based, scripted family life community education programs.
- Experience in management of tasks and meeting simultaneous timelines
- Demonstrated experience in community-based data collection.
- Must be fluent in English and possess excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience providing community presentations.
Minimum Technology SkillsMinimum License and Certifications Valid driver's license Desired Qualifications Desired Qualifications Master's degree or equivalent. Experience with programming that serves low-resource individuals and families. Experience coordinating the implementation of outreach programs at remote sites. Experience in coordinated outreach efforts with community agencies. Experience mentoring and training in an applied social science research setting. Experience facilitating family life and/or relationship education programs. Experience working with domestic violence victims advocate organizations. Experience providing presentations for academic and lay audiences at the local and national levels.
