Administrator in Training (AIT) - Volunteer
We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as an Administrator in Training (AIT) - Volunteer. As an aspiring administrator, you will work closely with senior administrators to gain first-hand experience in managing and directing the daily operations of our organization.
The administrator in training will have an opportunity to learn the role of an administrator, including personnel management, budgeting and finance, regulatory compliance, and strategic planning. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, an analytical mindset, and a desire to learn about the healthcare industry.
Job Duties:
· Work under the direction of senior administrators to learn the duties and responsibilities of managing and directing healthcare organization's activities.
· Develop knowledge and skills necessary to manage personnel, including recruiting, training, evaluating, and disciplining staff.
· Assist in the development and management of budgets, including revenue and expense forecasting.
· Learn and ensure compliance with laws and regulations that impact the healthcare industry.
· Work closely with other members of the management team to implement strategic plans and organizational goals.
· Participate in other administrative tasks and projects as needed.
Qualifications:
· Administrator-in-Training applicants may apply based on either the 1,000- or 2,000-hour program.
· To qualify for the 1,000-hour AIT. program, applicants must have:
· A degree in Health Care Administration OR A degree in Health Services Administration
OR
· An equivalent degree which must have at least 60 semester hours in required courses.
· Complete the course worksheet to determine if you qualify.
Courses from the following subject areas are required to fulfill the 60-semester hour requirement pursuant to section 468.1695(2)(a)1., F.S.:
· General administration and management of health care facilities (minimum 6 hours)
· Accounting and financial management (minimum 6 hours)
· Personnel management and labor relations (minimum 3 hours)
· Computer applications (minimum 3 hours)
· Long-term health care administration (minimum 3 hours)
· Health care planning and delivery systems (minimum 3 hours)
· Aging (minimum 3 hours)
· Governmental standards and regulation of long-term health care (minimum 3 hours)
· Legal aspects of health care administration (minimum 3 hours)
· Patient care management (minimum 3 hours)
To qualify for the 2,000-hour AIT program:
· Bachelor's degree in business administration, healthcare administration, or related subject is preferred.
· Prior management experience within the skilled nursing, long-term care industry
· Previous business development experience preferred--identifying and building local relationships to drive business as well as effective product pricing and revenue maximization.
· Must possess and demonstrate a high degree of leadership, organizational ability, and communication skills.
· Must have experience in managing Operations and back-office functions (human resources, accounting & payroll, marketing and admissions)
