Admissions - Assistant Director of AdmissionsJob DescriptionDEPARTMENT: Office of AdmissionsEMPLOYMENT STATUS: FULL TIMEFLSA STATUS: EXEMPTORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP: Reports to Director of AdmissionsJOB PURPOSE: The Assistant Director of Admissions manages the recruitment, interview, and application review for prospective students from an identified recruitment territory in an effort to increase applications, admits, and yield rates. The Assistant Director represents the College both on and off campus to prospective students, parents, secondary school counselors, and other individuals or organizations involved in the college admissions process. The position is responsible for identifying, building relationships, and creating partnerships for the College within the designated recruitment territory. Project management of identified initiatives is also part of the Assistant Director's job portfolio.DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:Essential Functions:AdmissionsDevelop and implement a prospective student recruitment and yield plan.Manage the recruitment, interview, and application review for prospective students in an identified recruitment territory.Discuss Wagner's offerings with prospective students, parents/guardians, and school counselors via travel to identified high schools, events, and related college recruitment events.Maintain regular and effective communications with prospective students, parents/guardians, and secondary school counselors.Participate in on and off-campus recruitment events.Conduct regular information and one-on-one sessions for prospective students.Supervise Wagner's Graduate Admissions Operation ensuring regular communication with both prospective graduate students and graduate program directors, the timely review of graduate applications, and enrollment of new graduate students.Meet stated enrollment targets for designated recruitment territory.Assist Wagner's Campus Life, Residential Education, and Financial Aid Staff as needed.Oversee special projects and/or serve on committees as requested.Nothing in this job description restricts Management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.QUALIFICATIONSWork Experience:At least 1-2 years of experience working in admissions or related higher education field.Experience with Technolutions Slate CRM is preferred.Education:Licenses:Valid driver's license.Demonstrated interest in working with people and a propensity for detail.Capable of undertaking complex admissions responsibilities.An ability to articulate the value of a liberal arts education.Ability to effectively present the college's mission and vision to diverse audiences and engage with various stakeholders.Communication/Interpersonal Skills:Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONSOffice hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.Seasonal evening and weekend work will be necessary during peak times.Required travel to participate in college fairs, high school visits, phone campaigns, and off-campus programs.About UsWagner College achieves this mission through the implementation and enhancement of The Wagner Plan for the Practical Liberal Arts, which was formally launched in 1998.
