Job Description:
Bellarmine College Preparatory, a Jesuit secondary school, has been educating young men for and with others in the tradition of St. Ignatius Loyola, founder of the Society of Jesus, since 1851.Bellarmine College Preparatory, located in San José, California invites applications for an Admissions Associate. The primary role of the Admissions Associate is to support and promote the Admissions Dept in various activities/events such as the admissions application process and campus tours. The person serving in this role will serve as a main contact with parents, students, and applicant families.Bellarmine complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and considers reasonable accommodations that may be necessary to perform the essential functions of the job.Responsibilities:
  • Represent and promote the school in weekly campus tours and other events
  • Coordinate parent and student volunteers including training, supervision, and troubleshooting
  • Produce written, photographic, and video content for social platforms and email newsletters
  • Coordinate visits by prospective students during the school day including matching visitors with a current-student guide aligned with their interests
  • Organize and review application materials with accuracy, efficiency, and confidentiality in fax, mail, email, and Ravenna application platform
  • Evaluate transfer applications and interview transfer applicants
  • Provide support to applicant families via phone and email
  • Complete other duties and/or project as assigned
Minimum Qualifications/Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Ability to work effectively with staff and students at all levels, displaying a positive attitude, demonstrating cultural proficiency, and exhibiting motivation and drive; this includes the ability to provide clear expectations to students while building positive relationships
  • Contribute to application and enrollment targets by understanding and implementing recruitment funnel management practices with guidance from Directors.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to express oneself clearly and concisely, and successfully interact with external and internal constituents; this includes the ability to resolve conflicts
  • Self-directed with proven ability to assume responsibility, work independently, creatively solve problems, and move work/projects to completion with minimal supervision
  • Ability to prioritize and complete tasks/assignments/projects within established time frames and with strong attention to detail, including the ability to stay focused and manage multiple projects/activities simultaneously
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint and the ability to operate all other applicable software
  • Ability to perform the job safely with respect to others, property, and individual safety
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in Ravenna application platform
  • Experience in video and photography production and social media campaigns
  • Experience teaching or educational programming for middle-school students
  • Experience in email layout and design such as HTML, MailChimp, or others
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift to 20 lbs., while using proper lifting techniques
  • Ability to sit, stand, and/or move around the applicable working environment as needed.
  • Ability to travel around our campus safely and comfortably.
  • Ability to use a keyboard (or an alternative input device) and other office equipment.
  • Ability to read information in printed material, on a computer screen, (often for extended periods of time) and/or on a mobile device/laptop.
General Information:
  • Salary range: $35 - $40 per hour (DOE) (~$73K - $84K annualized)
  • This position is classified as a Regular Full-Time Non-Exempt position
  • This position is eligible for Bellarmine's excellent benefits package the
  • This position has no direct reports
  • This is not a telecommuting position
