JOB TITLE: Admissions Counselor CLASSIFICATION: Full-time, HourlyREPORTS TO: Assistant Director of Admissions DEPT: Enrollment LOCATION: Miller HallSUMMARY:An admissions counselor acts as the primary point of contact for prospective traditional undergraduate students and is a raving fan of Cornerstone University. This person will oversee the development and implementation of specific recruitment strategies for an assigned group of prospective students, as well as an assigned geographic territory. They must be student-focused, task oriented with outstanding attention to detail, have excellent interpersonal communication skills, and the desire to work with a diverse audience of prospective students and their family members. The core of Cornerstone University is defined and driven by its Christ-centered mission and Biblical confession.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Establishes relationships with prospective undergraduate students and their family members, and assists them through the enrollment process from an inquiry status to university enrollment
- Communicates the benefits of a Cornerstone University investment to prospective students and their family members through phone calls, virtual and in-person appointments, email communication, text messages, etc.
- Learns about all academic programs of study, student organizations, spiritual formation and chapel, residential and commuter life, athletic programs and other areas of campus to best guide students through their college decision process
- Constructs concise value proposition statements after assessing each student's motivation for pursuing a Christ-centered education
- Meets and exceeds communication and activity goals for their assigned group of prospective students on monthly basis
- Schedules financial aid appointments with applicants and their family members at least three times per year to discuss the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid), review financial aid offers, and confirm tuition statements
- Serves prospective students, as well as the Admissions team members, by participating at all campus visits through event programming and campus tours
- Develops a travel strategy for assigned events to engage students, guidance counselors, pastors and friends of the university
- Represents Cornerstone University at college fairs, Christian and public high schools, homeschool networks, churches, conference and other events
- Participates in strategic planning meetings with the enrollment team and offers expert advice on how to distinguish Cornerstone University from the competitive marketplace
- All Cornerstone University and WCSG employees will regularly interact with students in a variety of projects, activities, and settings. As such all employees are expected to serve as Christian leaders and mentors by effectively living a gospel-centered lifestyle, ministering and discipling through a biblical worldview.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Excellent writing, critical thinking, and communication skills.
- Developed computer skills with proficiency in using Google documents and Microsoft Excel.
