Randolph-Macon College, a private, co-educational liberal arts institution, invites applications for a full-time Admissions Event Coordinator. Reporting to the Director of Admissions, the primary responsibility of the Event Coordinator is to manage all enrollment events for the Admissions departmentas well as ensuring that all visitors to the Admissions department receive impeccable customer service. This position also coordinates group visits and supports operational initiatives as needed. Responsibilities Include:
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise all aspects of enrollment management events including but not limited to Preview Days, Scholarships Days, Experience Days, Admitted Student Day, and Fountain Fridays. Coordination includes staffing per department, food and beverage, facilities, space reservations, parking, program schedule, marketing, and outside vendor support.
- Work directly with faculty and other campus partners for necessary representation at recruitment events.
- Develop new events as agreed upon by the VP for Enrollment Management and Director of Admissions.
- Work with the Admissions staff and Assistant Director of Marketing Communications to bolster event registrations and to achieve budgeted number of event attendees as determined by the Director of Admissions and the VP for Enrollment Management.
- Develop internal and external evaluations for all events and coordinate feedback into improvement initiatives.
- Establish and manage an annual events budget with the Admissions Office Coordinator. Ensure resources are allocated effectively to deliver an exceptional experience within financial constraints.
- Use Slate (CRM) to develop and implement event registration, program assessment, and reporting process.
- Schedules group visits to RMC, including middle and secondary school districts and community organizations.
- Prepare agendas, collaborate with dining services, reserve rooms and schedule presentations. Communicates to visiting organizations regarding all necessary information.
- Support normal admissions department activities as needed. This may include attending an event/college fair at a high school, interviewing and/or calling prospective students, and reviewing applications.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Prior experience in event planning, logistic coordination preferred.
- Professional skills in writing, computer applications, and public speaking required.
- Able to shift writing style as needed for different audiences.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to explain policies, listen to questions, respond, and problem solve.
- Ability to speak effectively to individuals and small groups.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products - Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Ability to utilize and become highly proficient in Slate (CRM).
- Ability to work weekends as well as occasional evenings and overnight travel.
