Job Description:
Position PurposeSupports the Admissions Department's goal to recruit the finest students.Supports in the Welcoming Assistant role to greet visitors to campus and connect them with their tour guides. Provides exceptional verbal and written communication for families going through the admissions process through email, by phone or in person.Completes accurate and efficient data entry. Creates a welcoming environment to all visitors at Phillips Exeter Academy. Assisting in organizing and managing the student admissions ambassador program with other members of the department.This is a temporary position, 30 - 40 hours a week starting October 2024 through the end of January 2025.Key Accountabilities
  • Responsible for assisting applicants and families with questions received via telephone, email or in person in a timely, accurate, professional and welcoming manner in regards to the admissions process.
  • Assesses incoming documentation against admissions guidelines.
  • Performs accurate data entry into systems for all processes.
  • Confidently works in Microsoft Office at an intermediate level; especially in Outlook.
  • Provides a professional and welcoming experience to all visitors.
  • Ensures a professional appearance of Bissell House.
  • Active team member in coordinating the student ambassador program.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Position RequirementsEducation
  • College degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred.
Experience
  • 3+ years' experience working with the public in a service capacity.
  • Experience working both independently and as a team member.
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with the school and campus highly preferred.
  • Experience working with adolescents in an educational setting preferred.
Skills & Knowledge
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to develop and maintain collegial relationships.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills.
  • Respect for diversity of identities and experiences, an orientation toward equity and inclusion, and cultural competency in all aspects of Academy life.

  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Willingness and ability to learn additional applications as needed.
  • High degree of organizational skills with the ability to be flexible and multi-task with accuracy.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written directions, maintain a professional demeanor and restraint at all times, including stressful situations.
