POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Admissions Recruiter at Orlando College of Osteopathic Medicine (OCOM) collaborates with the admissions team to establish and maintain strategic recruitment practices and prospective student pipelines throughout the recruitment process. This position is responsible for effectively managing all recruitment of qualified applicants for admissions to OCOM under the direction of the Director of Admissions. The recruiter will be responsible for the recruitment of applicants within the state of Florida, surrounding areas, and nationally.OCOM MISSION:The mission of the Orlando College of Osteopathic Medicine is to train caring and competent osteopathic physicians who will have an impact on the Central Florida community, our nation, and our global community.SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Instruct applicants on the admission processes
- Accurately advise prospective students on the requirements and the admissions process that will include information such as OCOM's mission; required prerequisites; minimum/competitive GPA and MCAT scores; an explanation for letters of recommendation; types of professional experiences needed; how to become a strong applicant; as well as any additional needs.
- Remain current on new campus offerings, policies, and procedures, communicating those effectively to inquiring applicants.
- Strategize with the Director of Admissions to meet recruitment goals and objectives.
- Recruitment activities include but are not limited to scheduling speaking arrangements at colleges and universities, personal contacts with pre-health advisors, student clubs and organizations, special presentations, virtual recruitment fairs, and events throughout the target areas and national locations.
- Research recruitment trends and best practices and decide on the best marketing strategies to pursue to achieve the admissions office's specified goals.
- Continuously improve presentations and innovative recruitment and retention strategies for more effective on and off-campus recruitment.
- Develops programs and communication tools for the recruitment of prospective students
- Maintain accurate data on how applicants are progressing through the recruitment cycle as well as overall reporting trends on a weekly, monthly, and yearly basis.
- Ability to work independently as well as function effectively in a team and within a diverse group of people
- Detail-oriented and willing to work in a changing environment, including researching new ways of accomplishing tasks, participating in training sessions, being a self-starter and team player, and willing to assist in other areas as needed.
- Build and maintain good relations with student services, advisors, leadership, and educational institutions.
- Uphold and abide by OCOM's policies and procedures, including, but not limited to, Title IX, HIPAA, and FERPA guidelines.
- Assist the Director of Admissions in accreditation functions, which include document creation, data collection, and data entry.
- Performs other related duties as assigned
RequirementsQUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous recruiting, admissions, sales, and/or marketing experience is required, but a bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field may be considered in lieu of experience.
- Experience in a higher education or non-profit sector is also preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds at a time.
- Must be able to travel throughout Florida regularly and nationwide travel as needed.
