Admissions Representative External posting Full-Time, Exempt , Administrative/Professional JOBSUMMARY: SVSU is looking for a highlydynamic, dedicated and passionate individual to inspire next year's class ofstudents. Individuals will engageprospective students and their families in one-on-one meetings (both virtualand in-person), present to large groups, host counselor update meetings andmore. ESSENTIALDUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work closely with the Directorand other Admission staff to implement a recruitment plan to achieve SVSU'senrollment goals.
- Take SVSU's inspiring and inclusivemessage across the state by traveling in-person to high schools and attendingvarious student receptions and activities on behalf of SVSU. Significant travelwill be required during the months of September, October, November, March, andApril, in addition to sporadic travel at other times.
- Conduct in-person and virtualappointments and recruitment events through various technological platformsyear-round.
- Create and maintaincollaborative relationships with guidance counselors, parents and students fromfirst point of contact through final enrollment.
- Support high school counselors,administrators, prospective students and parents in a friendly manner throughprompt and consistent communication.
- Review and evaluateapplication-related materials and maintain student records.
- Accurately enter all necessarydata into an electronic contact management system to produce a log of inquiriesand direct student follow-up through text, phone and email channels.
- Coordinate follow-upcommunication campaigns with students, parents and counselors throughout theyear.
- Participate in the developmentand implementation of multi-faceted, outreach-related events and activities.
- Demonstrate in-depth knowledgeof SVSU academic programs and offerings.
- Participate in division-relatedprograms and services when requested.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Admissions.
SUPERVISIONRECEIVED: Supervision is provided by theDirector and Associate Directors in the Office of Admissions. SUPERVISIONEXERCISED: May be responsible for thesupervision and coordination of work for student employees. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree
- Valid Michigan driver's license
- Experience and ability topositively interact with diverse student populations and groups.
- Ability to work independentlywhile engaging as a member of the Admissions team.
- Excellent written and oralcommunication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to address largegroups of students and/or adults.
- Ability to plan and organize amultifaceted personal and team workload.
- Demonstrate high level ofinitiative, enthusiasm, and perseverance.
- Ability to work a flexibleschedule which includes evenings, weekends, and statewide travel.
- Ability to load and transportadmissions materials, displays and other equipment.
- Ability to perform the essentialduties of the position with or without accommodation.
PREFERREDQUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in college admissionsor with high school audiences is preferred.
- Direct knowledge and experiencewith SVSU is preferred.
WORKINGCONDITIONS:
- Duties are generally performedinside and not exposed to adverse conditions.
- Duties require automobile travelwhich includes exposure to varying weather conditions.
