Job DetailsJob Location Cleveland St - Greenville, SC Position Type Full Time Education Level Graduate Degree Travel Percentage None Job Category Nonprofit - Social Services Description The Adolescent Outpatient Counselor position is based in office and within the community to include school or group home settings. Administrative and clinical activities necessary in the provision of individual, group counseling and other family rehabilitative counseling services. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Coordinator of Community Based Programs. No supervisory responsibilities. Duties:
  • Plans and conducts individual or group counseling sessions with assigned clients as ordered on the Individualized Treatment Plan.
  • Conducts Behavioral Health and Substance use assessments and recommends placement into services.
  • Develops an Individualized Treatment Plan along with client input.
  • Position will provide a variety of substance use disorder services in both office and community settings.
  • Provides individual therapy to adolescents with behavioral health and substance use issues.
  • Provides crisis intervention services as needed.
  • Maintains up-to-date written documentation of client contact following documentation guidelines.
  • Makes referrals to external agencies or internal programs as appropriate for the identified client.
  • Participates in weekly treatment staffing to receive and provide feedback on client admissions.
  • Maintains effective working relationships with external agencies through regular case management and other community liaison activities.
  • Completes periodic written client evaluations and reports in a neat and timely manner.
  • Actively support a trauma informed and responsive work environment as demonstrated in the 5 core values of safety, trustworthiness, choice, collaboration, and empowerment.
  • Actively supports Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion values of acknowledgement, commitment, openness, celebration, and humility.
  • Actively supports and implements Motivational Interviewing as the program's core evidence-based practice.
  • Performs administrative duties relevant to client services and other related duties as required.
  • Serves on Commission committee(s) as needed.

Qualifications Masters degree in human service area from accredited institution with successful completion of ADC process within 3 years of hire.
