POSITION SUMMARY: The Adoption Care Manager Position specializes in and offers expertise in adoptive placement home and child studies under the direction of the Adoption SupervisorWHAT YOU WILL DO:Manage cases throughout the adoption process until completion.Provide adoption services for children awaiting adoption and work with their Case Managers.Develop child-specific adoption plans with the Adoption Supervisor and Case Manager.Set up meetings to match children with potential adoptive families and other key parties.Handle case management for children awaiting adoption, consulting with the Adoption Supervisor to meet specific needs, reporting, and timelines.Complete all necessary documentation for adoption placements, including home studies, subsidy requests, home visits, and related legal documents.Support adoptive families with placement services and ensure documentation meets legal disclosure and subsidy standards.Review and update case plans monthly to ensure progress toward adoption goals or make necessary adjustments.Prepare monthly progress reports for all stakeholders, including the child's parents.Provide updates on adoption cases for court reviews, participate in meetings, and testify in court as needed.Perform specialized case management tasks to ensure compliance with legal and agency requirements.Participate in staffing and review committees for sibling separations, matches, and adoptive family assessments.Assess the needs of children and families and coordinate services for adoption preparation, transition, and support.Communicate monthly with the Child Welfare Case Manager to collaborate on meeting the needs of children and families.Complete tasks and meet all legal requirements related to adoption, as specified by Florida law.Educate families on child welfare issues to support family stability and a healthy family environment.Conduct home visits every 25 days to check on child safety, engagement, and family progress.Attend staff development, team meetings, and care reviews.Carry out additional tasks or special projects as assigned.Complete adoptive home studies and updates for prospective adoptive families.May need to use a personal vehicle for work.Knowledge of local community resources.Skills to assess, interpret, and deliver adoption-related information to children and families.Valid Florida Driver's License and ability to be insured by the agency.Computer skills, especially in Microsoft Office.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Clear and timely documentation skills.Ability to facilitate groups and manage group dynamics.Punctual and dependable.Commitment to workplace respect, teamwork, and equal opportunity.Ability to accept supervision and follow agency values and mission.Location: Citrus CountyRequirementsWHAT YOU NEED: BSW/BA in Human Services; or MSW/MA preferred; 2 years direct experience in Foster Care/Adoption preferred.Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 30 pounds, bend, stand and sit for extended periods of time.
