The Crisis Mental Health Counselor in the Adult and Youth Mobile Crisis Intervention will provide support to the master's level clinicians in providing crisis intervention or crisis stabilization services to individuals and families in evaluation and care. They help support individuals and their families, and perform a variety of supportive tasks such as assisting with the implementation of the disposition determined by the master's-level clinician. They may also assist with post-MCI intervention, as needed. Open 7 days per week, with the intention of offering the right service at the right time, all shifts are available. The right candidate will ideally have a Bachelor's-level degree or significant experience in the field. They will also need to be able to pass a CORI and driving background check. There will be many optional (and some required) trainings in evidence based care including ARC, de-escalation training,TF-CBT, Zero Suicide Framework and Multi-Systemic Family Therapy. CHD CBHC Adult Crisis Stabilization Unit is seeking Bachelors Level Lead Counselors for 1st and 2nd shift on weekdays and weekends. Essential Functions:
- Providing support and supervision to clients
- Running or delegating staff running house meetings
- Assuring the house schedule is followed
- On site supervision of Residential Counselors within the ACCS context
- Updating the MABHA website during shift
- Assisting clinician in communication with collateral contacts
- Shift check in with MCI
- Collaboration with MCI around admissions
- Leading change of shift meeting for on-coming staff including making sure staff has arrived on time and are aware of client information and any incoming admissions or pending discharges
- Ability to problem solve, de-escalate, and manage conflict
- Run skills group for clients during shift
- Supporting counselors in understanding and utilizing the electronic health record
- Run insurance for all clients within 1 day of admission
- Ensure clients insurance information is correctly put in electronic health record
- Ensure clients are enrolled and dis-enrolled in Crisis Stabilization and that all staff understand how to do this should BA Counselor be out
- Ensure all policies, procedures and protocols are being followed appropriately
- Assisting in onboarding and training of new staff
- Assisting in training of existing staff
- Serve to model professional service delivery, where client safety and trauma-informed care is held in highest regard
- Candidates should have some experience working with youth and or in the mental health field. Candidates must have a Bachelor's Degree in psychology or related field.
