Location: Tahlequah,OK, USA
Position will be based out of Tahlequah and will also cover Wagoner and Muskogee Areas.
Responsible for instructing students in basic education subjects in order to prepare them for their General Equivalency Degree Examination and instructing youth participants (predominately SYEP) in basic skills instruction.
Job Duties:Prepares and presents individualized instruction in basic education subjects. Prepares and presents instruction for youth participants (predominately SYEP) in basic skills instruction. Performs outreach services to potential students by providing interest/needs assessment and encouraging participation. Administers informal testing to students diagnose student progress. Maintains records of attendance and progress as required. Maintains accurate participant files and data files. Prepares reports as required. Provides referral services appropriate to individual student needs. Attends trainings and meetings as required. Other duties may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Minimal supervisory responsibility (i.e., lead position)
Qualifications:EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; no substitutions.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT
An additional six (6) months experience in public instruction, private instruction, classroom teaching and/or tutoring.
COMPUTER SKILLS
An individual should have knowledge of Database software; Internet software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating. Prefer an Oklahoma State Teaching Certificate.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to operate standard computer software.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
